About the Eco Cabins

Welsh translations are coming soon.

CAT’s Eco-Cabins are situated just off our main site in the stunningly beautiful Dulas valley, part of the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere. We have two 18-bed Eco-Cabins, providing hostel-style accommodation for up to 36 people.

Approaching the Eco Cabin from the covered link area you enter a welcoming, carpeted open-plan living space with kitchen facilities to meet the needs of self catering groups. The room is furnished with lounge chairs and tables to offer maximum flexibility. Beyond is the bedroom area with six bedrooms, including two singles, plus shower rooms and toilets. Hot water for the cabins is generated by solar thermal panels on the grass roof as well as via the woodstove for heat and hot water. A gas stove with hob and two ovens can be used for cooking.

A classroom with T.V. and video facilities is available next to the cabins. Groups receive the support of the Duty Education Officer and all are given a free introductory talk on arrival.

Innovative Water Recycling!

CAT and the Eco-Cabins are not on mains water or mains sewage. Instead, we store water from the surrounding hillsides in a large reservoir on site and safely use this for a variety of purposes.  Used water passes through the reed bed sewage system where it supports a variety of plant and animal life, before returning safely to the environment.
